COACHES

As a member of the coaching staff of PCYA, Inc., the number one goal will always be to have fun. We all want to win. We all want to win every game. Winning every game is fun.

However, at PCYA we will not put winning above learning and developing or the safety of the athlete. Focus should remain on effort, sustaining character, and goal achievement - as an individual and as a team.

Andrew Collier

MANAGER

Andrew's professional coaching career began in the Texas Public Schools (DFW area) in 1999 as an Asst. Football Coach, Asst. Track Coach, and Head Basketball Coach. He also held an assistant basketball coaching position at the collegiate level. The last 3 years of his professional coaching career, he was employed at Ranger College as the Head Basketball Coach. Andy has extensive experience in coaching youth sports. His true passion has always been helping young athletes conquer challenges and overcome their fears. "Nothing compares to celebrating with a young athlete that has achieved his/her goal."

Andy is PureBaseball Compliant (USA Baseball), USA Basketball Certified, SafeSport Trained, and a big supporter of Positive Coaching Alliance and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Brian Cunningham

Coach

Brian graduated from and played baseball for Brock High School. In 2006, he played 1st base for the State Champion Brock Eagles. Brian went on to play college baseball at Northwestern Oklahoma State University and Howard Payne University. Brian now resides in Brock with his wife and two kids.

"I developed a love for the game of baseball at a young age. I enjoyed each and every stage from little league to college. I am now enjoying passing on my love of the game to the next generation. I want to inspire kids to learn how to play the game the right way and reach their full potential."

Life lessons that I have learned:

*We can only control our effort, we cannot control the umpire, the other team, the weather. The only thing we are in control of is our attitude.

*Progress not perfection - Baseball is a game of failure. Continuous learning is important so we do not repeat the same mistakes. Perseverance is key because we are not perfect and we don't need to be!

*Teamwork - Baseball has given me many life long friendships and baseball taught me the importance of others in my life to rely on.

*Hard Work - Champions are built in the off season. It really does matter what we do when no one is watching. Integrity is important for self inventory and growth.

*Capitalize on the opportunity. Life is about timing. You are going to get at least one pitch to drive into the gap. We want to make sure that everything is in the right slot, that we are in a good position to make the most of opportunities given.
